Data deletion

Delete your Matrix Specs data

App: Matrix Specs: Device Info (app.matrixspecs.android) · Developer: Matrix Works

Almost everything Matrix Specs reads never leaves your phone, so most deletion is something you do on the device itself and it takes effect immediately. Three things can leave your phone, and each has its own step below.

1. Diagnostic history, test results and reports (on your phone)

This is the bulk of your data: battery and thermal history, scan results, hardware test outcomes, saved reports, local profile corrections, and preferences. All of it is stored only on your device.

To delete it, do any of the following:

Retention: none. This data is erased from the device immediately and no copy is held anywhere else.

2. Your AI provider API key

If you enabled the optional AI Doctor, your own OpenAI or Google Gemini API key is stored encrypted in the Android Keystore on your device. Matrix Specs never transmits it anywhere except the provider it belongs to.

To delete it, open the AI Doctor screen in Matrix Specs and remove the saved key. This also clears the cached model list.

Retention: none. Matrix Specs never receives or stores your key on any server.

Diagnostic text you chose to send to an AI provider was sent from your phone directly to that provider under your own account. Matrix Specs operates no AI server and holds no copy. To delete that history, use your provider's own account controls.

3. A device correction you submitted

If you submitted a correction to the device catalog, email the address below and include the submission ID that Matrix Specs showed you when you submitted it. The submission ID is what identifies your row; corrections carry no account or personal identifier.

Email: bymatrixwork@gmail.com

Retention: requested deletions are actioned on receipt. Note that a correction which was reviewed and accepted may already have been incorporated into the public device catalog as an anonymous specification fact; that catalog entry contains nothing that identifies you or your phone, and it stays.

4. An anonymous benchmark result you uploaded

If you opted in to anonymous benchmark comparison, you can delete your result two ways:

Email: bymatrixwork@gmail.com

Retention: every raw benchmark row is physically deleted no later than 180 days after upload by a daily database job, whether or not you ask. Requested deletions are actioned sooner. Aggregated model-level averages, which are published only after a minimum cohort size is reached and cannot be traced back to an individual upload, are retained.

What is kept, and why

What Matrix Specs never collects

There is nothing to delete in these categories because they are never collected: serial number, IMEI, phone number, advertising ID, accounts, SSID, precise location, installed-app names, your files, and public or local IP address. Matrix Specs contains no advertising or third-party analytics SDK.
